Fighting Poverty And Prejudice – Growing Older With HIV

More people than ever before aged 50 and over are being diagnosed with HIV,  and more people with HIV are living longer. In the UK more than a third of people living with HIV in the UK are over 50, and the figure is rising.

UK-based HIV/AIDS charity The Terrence Higgins Trust has published a new report on HIV and ageing called Uncharted Territory: a report into the first generation growing older with HIV, which shows how poverty is having a major impact on this community.  Access to quality social and health care, discrimination and isolation are significant concerns for many.
